Occasional visits overseas are aranged and in the past these have been to France, the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Poland, Australia and New Zealand.

Two visits are planned this year to the USA in May and Germany in September.

From 28 May to 6 June 2012 we will be travelling to the mid-west of the United States to join members of the Society of Industrial Archaeology at their conference in Cincinnati and exploring some of the industrial history of the mid-West. Before the conference we will visit sites in Indiana and after the conference we will travel north through Ohio to Detroit to see what remains of this once great industrial city.

From 10 – 15 September 2012 we will be visiting The Ruhr to explore this conurbation of coal mines, coking plants, blast furnaces and steel works which is the home of North Germany’s Iron and steel industry. Travel will be by coach from London.
